Sodom

Estilo: Thrash Metal

Biografia: Es una de las bandas pioneras del Thrash Metal Alemán. Formada en la ciudad alemana de Gelsenkirchen en 1982. Desde sus inicios han pasado por sus filas numerosos muscos de prestigio entre los que cabria destacar a los hoy tristemente ya desaparecidos Michael Wulff “Destructor” (Guitarra 85-86; Kreator; R.I.P.1993) y Christian Dudeck “Witchhunter” (Batería 84-92; Destruction, Bathory; R.I.P. 2008). La filosofía de la banda ha estado marcada desde hace mas de 20 por la profética cita que escucharon de labios de Manfred Schutz (SPV/Steamhammer) < Ustedes son chicos malos, y venderán millones de discos > Lo que les lleva a grabar con él su EP debut In the Sing of Evil. Aunque inicialmente la temática de sus letras versa sobre el satanismo pronto es sustituida por la temática bélica que tantos éxitos les ha reportado. En 1989 editan Agent Orange, su tercer álbum de estudio, con el que se cumplirían las palabras de M. Schutz y que además esta catalogado por la critica entre los 10 mejores trabajos de “Thrash Metal” de la historia.
Hoy tras más de 20 discos en el mercado y casi 30 años sobre los escenarios se puede decir que Sodom goza de su merecidísimo lugar entre los Reyes del Thrash Metal, algo al alcance de muy pocos.
Su actual formación es la siguiente: Thomas Such “Tom Angelripper” (Voz, Bajo y fundador), Bernd Kost “Bernemann” (Guitarra) y Konrad Schottkowski “Bobby” (Batería).
