Ingrid Michaelson (8 de diciembre de 1979) es una cantautora estadounidense. Sus composiciones han aparecido en numerosos programas de televisión. En especial, sus canciones han sido seleccionadas para las escenas emocionales de Anatomía de Grey y One Tree Hill .
Michaelson nació en el centro de una familia de artistas: Su padre era el compositor Carl Michaelson y su madre la escultora Elizabeth Egbert, que actualmente es Directora ejecutiva y la Presidente del "Staten Island Museum". Comenzó a tocar el piano a la edad de 5 años. Continuó aprendiendo hasta la edad de 7 años en el conservatorio de la Calle 3 de Manhattan; posteriormente, durante muchos años, en el centro de la comunidad judía "Instituo Dorothy Delson-Kuhn". Allí conoció a su tutora de canto, Elizabeth McCullough, que trabajó con ella a lo largo de toda su educación secundaria.Se graduó en el Instituto técnico de Staten Island y posteriormente en la Universidad de Binghamton, donde obtuvo el título en Ciencias de la dramatización.
Su canción "The Way I Am ", se pudo oír en el spot publicitario de otoño de Old Navy en 2007 y en el de Chevrolet del mismo año.
El 21 de septiembre de 2007, Michaelson debutó en televisión tocando "The Way I Am" en el programa Last Call with Carson Daly.
"The Way I Am " llegó a ser la sexta más descargada en iTunes Store y llegó al puesto #37 en la lista Billboard Hot 100.
Su canción "Be Ok", se escucha en el comercial publictario del Dell Studio One 19. (2009)
Telefónica emplea está canción en sus spots para Movistar en España (2010).
La campaña publicitaria del Opel Meriva en España utiliza esta canción (2011).
Un nuevo comercial de CocaCola la emplea (2013)
